Samsung Galaxy S24 specs, release, and other updates.

Samsung Galaxy S series continues to push the boundaries of best-performing Android phones. Until now, the Samsung S23 flagship series including the S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra are stunning Android phones. All of them feature excellent performance that one can hardly see on other Android phones. However, we are a few months away from the release of the S24 Flagship series, and this time we are expecting Galaxy to break its own record.

Samsung Galaxy S24 is expected to be released at the start of the year 2024, and what it will give to the smartphone industry is still unknown. Yet, many rumors are circulating around, enabling us to conclude the specs and performance of this outstanding upcoming device.

Being a reputable site, our prime duty is to enrich our readers with the latest news regarding mobile phones and the Samsung Galaxy S24 is no exception. So, hold your breath and continue to dive into the deep knowledge of this stunning smartphone. However, we must say all the gathered data is based upon different rumors and leaks from other official websites.

Samsung S24 expected updates.

Here’s a simple breakdown of the expected changes in the Galaxy S24 Ultra:

  • The new phone will probably have a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
  • Some people say that Samsung might bring back its own Exynos chip.
  • The phone could have a brighter and smoother screen that refreshes 144 times per second (that’s a lot!).
  • The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature 10 percent more battery than its previous model S23 Ultra.
  • Samsung is not using 3X zoom capability in its latest model. Instead, we are expecting it to use a special hybrid zoom solution.
  • The Galaxy S24 Ultra might have vast RAM, as much as 16GB!

Galaxy S24: size and design updates

Size:

Samsung is going to continue its legacy of screen size in the S lineup, which means it will probably feature a regular 6.1-inch model, a slightly bigger 6.6-inch Galaxy S24 Plus, and an even bigger 6.8-inch Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Yet, rumors claim that the S24 Ultra and S24 Plus might be larger than previous models. Even a minor expansion of the screen upto 0.05 is noteworthy. This means the overall phone is going to be larger than its previous generation. The design is not going to be a carbon copy of S23 Ultra, yet slight changes are expected from it.

Design:

Besides the increase in display size, another major change is the introduction of titanium in manufacturing for the S24 ultra. It is a big revolution as compared to previously using Aluminium. Though it will make your phone slightly heavier, still it is stronger and more protective against any damage.

We’re not exactly sure how the design will change for the Galaxy S24 series, but the regular Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus will likely have curved corners and flat sides. The Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, might have curved edges and straight corners, along with those rumored titanium sides.

Samsung might also make the screen look bigger by reducing the bezels around it. Many people who follow these things have predicted that the Galaxy S24 will have narrower borders.

Hz rate:

The screens themselves will probably be AMOLED panels with a max refresh rate of 120Hz on all models. However, the regular and Plus models might have a minimum refresh rate of 48Hz, while the Ultra model could have an even more efficient 1Hz minimum refresh rate.

Galaxy S 24 Ultra: Specs (rumors):

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to use a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. This same chip might also be used in other versions of the Galaxy S24, as Samsung usually uses the same chips in all its top phones.

According to tech expert Ice Universe, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is likely to be even stronger than the previous version. It will come with two different types of cores working together to make the phone faster and more efficient.

Another report claims that the S24 Ultra will own 50 percent better graphics due to an improved GPU. This could make the phone outperform the iPhone 15 Pro in games and other tough apps, even if the CPUs seem different in power.

We’re not sure if all Galaxy S24 models will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Different rumors are also coming that the S24 will use a separate chipset Exynos. Even the previous S model along with the Exynos chipset was not good as compared to those having the Snapdragon chipset. Still, Samsung is working on its betterment. Leaked test results show that the Exynos 2400 chip might perform even better in some ways than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Apple’s A16 Bionic chip.

Galaxy S24 ultra: software updates

In August, the beta version of One UI 6, which is built on Android 14, was released for the Galaxy S23 series. This is a testing version before the final update, which will probably come to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5. The upcoming Galaxy S24 will come with either One UI 6 or maybe even One UI 6.1 already installed. There are some new additions to the software, like easier-to-access settings and a better-looking default font. This update marks a significant improvement for Samsung’s devices.

Galaxy S24 Ultra: Storage updates

We’re not certain if the RAM will be improved, but according to someone who often shares early information, the S24 and S24 Plus might have 12GB of RAM. This would be more than the 8GB in the S23 models. Another person who leaks information agrees with this, and they also say that the S24 Ultra might have 16GB RAM.

This same person who leaks information also says that the regular Galaxy S24 will likely have 256GB of storage, just like the Plus and Ultra versions. Other sources agree with this idea too, and we’re hoping it turns out to be true.

Galaxy S24 Ultra: Camera updates

The Galaxy S23 Ultra already owns a main camera with 200MP, and this year things might get even more extreme.  There might not be many changes to the regular Galaxy S24 cameras. Another big rumor is, there will be no advancement in the camera of Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus, so they are featuring the results as they were before. The selfie camera of 12MP will also remain the same as the S23 model.

There’s rumor that the S24 Ultra will feature a big 1-inch camera sensor, probably biggest camera sensor on the market. This is even bigger than the sensor that might be in the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The S24 Ultra’s zoom cameras might be better, with more zoom levels and brighter pictures. One person who often shares leaks, RGcloudS, said this. Another source says S24 Ultra might have a special zoom that can switch between 3x and 10x without losing quality.

A person named IceUniverse talked about this in August, and they later said a new 50MP camera might be the reason. Someone else named Yogesh Brar thinks the S23 Ultra’s 10x zoom camera might be replaced by a 3x zoom 50MP camera on the S24 Ultra. There might also be a second 10MP camera with 10x zoom.

Galaxy S24 ultra: Battery updates

At first, there were rumors about the 24 Plus and S24 Ultra phones having the same battery sizes as the Galaxy S23 phones – 4,700 mAh and 5,000 mAh. But now there’s a report suggesting the battery in Galaxy S24 Plus might become a bit larger, around 4,900 mAh.

The new design might also make the S24 Ultra charge faster at 65W instead of 45W.

There is no certain information for S24’s battery power, so, we are expecting it to continue the same 3900mAH battery power. Yet, no rumor is heard about the charging wire for S24 and S24 ultra whether they are going to equip 25W and 45W speeds, or whether any advancements will happen here too.

Galaxy S24 series release date and price.

It’s very likely that the Galaxy S24 series will come out in January or February of 2024 during a Galaxy Unpacked event. We might expect certain minor gadgets along with this release, as we have seen in the case of the Galaxy S23 release event.

Prices are not sure until now, however, my intuition claims that Samsung is not going to increase the price and remain the same as it was; $799, $999, and $1,199. We’re especially hoping this will be the case for the U.K. and Australian markets.
