Reasons to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series

noorish

Samsung introduces its top-tier smartphone series, the Galaxy S series, every year during the first quarter. This lineup stands out as one of the most sought-after Android flagship series, consistently leading the way. These phones offer advanced technology bundled with reliable software, ensuring a satisfying experience throughout the devices’ lifespan.

Anticipation surrounds the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series, set to debut next year around the same time as before. Although the launch is about ten months away, some details about these devices have already emerged.

In this article, we’ll delve into all the leaked, confirmed, or rumored information regarding the Galaxy S24 series up to this point. We’ll also help you decide whether upgrading to the Galaxy S24 series is a good idea or if sticking with the S23 is a better choice.

Samsung features its own distinguished designs for the latest models that create an exception from the rest of Android mobile phones. However, the rumors claim that the Samsung S24 base and Plus models will get no distinguished design from the S23 Base and Plus models. Nevertheless, we do not claim anything about S24 ultra models.

Coming to the phone’s manufacturing material, Samsung might choose to use different materials this time that could make the devices a little lighter. This is what we conclude after listening to different rumors.

Unlike the design, it seems the screen of the Galaxy S24 Ultra might be getting some really good upgrades.

Reports from SamLover suggest that the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s screen might feature a refresh rate of 144Hz. If this is true, we are going to get the fastest refreshing rate ever as compared to previous Android phones. In other words, Samsung is enhancing the boundaries here. So now you are allowed to enjoy the fastest scrolling while playing games and using your social media accounts adding fun to your mobile journey.

A well-known person who leaked information, Ice Universe, said that the “Galaxy S24 Ultra has an upgraded screen.” Though the news is incomplete, it’s possible they are going to feature a new M13 OLED screen. If that’s what’s happening, the device’s screen will be brighter and more comfortable than ever.

Camera updates in Galaxy S24

The cameras on the Galaxy S23 were quite good. Usually, we do not see any significant change in the cameras of the Galaxy S series, however, this time in 2024 we are expecting more from it.

According to Ice Universe, a well-known leaking source, the main camera on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series (Plus and base) will probably get minor changes. However, he thinks the telephoto camera on the Galaxy S24 Ultra will get better.

He says that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a 50MP 3x telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. This should make the quality of the pictures better.

Now, for the other models in the Galaxy S24 series—the Base and the Plus—it looks like they will also use the same 50 MP ISOCELL GN3 sensor that their earlier versions had, according to the information that’s been leaked.

Regarding the other cameras, there might be some changes in the telephoto ones. Tipsters say there could be just one sensor with a zoom that you can adjust from 3 times to 10 times. Unlike previously using two separate sensors for 3x and 10x zoom. We might also see changes to the main sensor’s aperture.

Unlike some other rival companies that switched to bigger 1-inch imaging sensors in the past year, Samsung is still crazy about using a 1/1.3-inch sensor for the main camera. However, even though the hardware is similar to the previous generation, leaks say the Samsung Galaxy S24 series might still have much better camera performance, mostly because of improvements in the software.

Reliable Storage

The Galaxy S23 lineup came in the market with 8GB RAM, yet we have seen the S23 version with stunning 12GB RAM. According to a reliable source, we are expecting that the Galaxy S24 Ultra might take it up a notch further with an unbeatable 16GB of RAM. Still, it will not be too surprising as the Galaxy S21 Ultra had a 16GB option, even though the S22 Ultra stepped back a bit and featured up to 12GB of RAM. And these days, quite a few top-notch phones are embracing 16GB of RAM.

Reports suggest that the smallest storage space available will be 256GB. If you find yourself frequently juggling tasks and the current RAM and storage setups aren’t cutting it for you, considering a move to the Samsung Galaxy S24 series could be a smart move.

Upgraded chipset

Samsung experienced a big change previously while denying the use of Exynos chips for any regions in the Galaxy S23 series. Instead, they went for a faster version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but it was available for a limited time. It’s quite likely that a similar thing will happen with the Galaxy S24 lineup. However, it’s not very clear whether the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will also be sped up like that.

While we don’t have all the details about the upcoming Snapdragon flagship, rumors say it will only work with 64-bit systems. It’s also expected to have new AI features and will use the latest ARM CPUs: the Cortex-X4, A720, and A520 CPUs.

Interestingly, whispers are suggesting that the Samsung Galaxy S24 series might come in a special version with an Exynos 2400 chipset. This seems to go against the Qualcomm agreement they have. Nevertheless, such a model might be possible if Samsung gives it a special name like “Galaxy S24 Exynos Edition“.

Software upgrade

Now, turn back to the software updates. The Galaxy S24 series is set to operate on One UI 6, which is built on Android 14. Users are allowed to experience many improvements in security and privacy, quality performance, and a few beneficial additions to the design. However, this alone might not be a compelling reason to upgrade. The key advancement is that the Galaxy S24 series will entertain us with an additional year of software support compared to the Galaxy S23 series.

Better battery power and fast charging:

Twitter tipster RGcloudS revealed in a report that both the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Plus models will feature a stacked battery design. This will be much like what you’d find in electric cars. This innovative design is expected to enable faster charging, potentially reaching speeds of up to 65W.

While phones with similar speedy charging capabilities have been seen before, this marks a significant achievement for Samsung. The concept of a stacked battery arrangement comes with its own set of benefits. It could mean more energy packed into a smaller space, allowing for the integration of larger batteries. Additionally, this battery setup tends to offer a longer lifespan and improved overall performance.

On another note, there’s a hint of potential innovation in the battery department for the Galaxy S24 series. Samsung is exploring the possibility of introducing new battery technology, promising extended battery life and better overall battery health. This technology tends to run batteries longer, as it could play a role in minimizing major battery degradation.
